Calouste Gulbenkian Human Rights Prize - Applications from March 4 to April 30


The applications for the 2019 edition of the Calouste Gulbenkian Human Rights Prize are open.

This Prize is aimed at individuals or non-profit private legal entities that have distinguished themselves internationally, especially in the fields of freedom of expression and information and press. The Calouste Gulbenkian Prize in the Human Rights category is an award worth 100 thousand euros.

Applications must be submitted in English, between March 4 and April 30, 2019.

Portuguese Language Courses

The Camões Institute and the Portuguese Embassy in Beijing would like to invite you to study Portuguese in a beginners level course.




Level A1- Beginners

The course will take place on Wednesdays, from 6 PM to 8 PM, beginning on the 13th of March 2019. This course is aimed at both teenagers and adults.

Additional information:

-          The cost of the tuition fees is 1200 rmb per completed 20-hour module and it includes books and didactic materials. The payment must be done in cash.

-          The payment should be made in person at the Portuguese Embassy in Beijing. This can be done Mondays to Fridays, between 9.30 am to 12 pm and 2 pm to 6 pm, excluding bank holidays.

-          In case the individual is unable to come to the Embassy to make the payment in person, they must contact us via the following email address:

-          The course will take place at the Cervantes Institute, located at A1 Gongti Nanlu, Chaoyang District.

-          The course requires a minimum number of students in order to take place.

The Position:  Receptionist and front desk Officer


Location:  Embassy of Portugal in Beijing.


Start date: 2019 January 1


Duration: 1 year renewable  (with 2 month probation).


Working hours:  Regular working hours: 9.00-17.00 during weekdays, minimum  40 hours per week.


Qualifications: 1. Chinese national; 2.Fluent in Portuguese and Chinese and English; 3. Bachelor degree or above; 4. Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
